The Imaging Alliance “Portraits of Love” gives back to the community by providing joy to build strength and create forever lasting memories. USO Denver has enjoyed the opportunity to host this program for many years, most recently on Saturday, March 30th, 2019 with Mike’s Camera of Denver, connecting the talents of professional photographers with military families from all branches and all components (active duty, currently serving national guard and reservists) of the military.
This year’s event brought together 45 military families (180 individuals) to capture their love and make memories to cherish long into the future. Each family worked with a professional photographer onsite at Mike’s Camera and received printed and digital images from their session at no charge.
Our military families tell it best, but it’s clear to see why Portraits of Love is important:
- “Military life is very stressful on the family, activities like these help us get away from that environment and allow for more family time.”
- “In the military we spell love T-I-M-E, so much is missed by our service member that any time we can find a way to connect and spend time together it is a blessing and a gift.”
- “This was important for my family as we are sending these photos in a care package for my husband. To get awesome pictures - with Mom - during deployment helps bring comfort to our service member and creates a memory that otherwise wouldn’t be there. “
- “I never thought I would have the ability for a nice picture with my son. The Imaging Alliance, Mike’s Camera, and USO Denver made it possible, great service.”
