USO Denver joins the Department of Defense and the military community in celebrating April as the Month of the Military Child. In that spirit, we hosted Purple Up with the USO at FE Warren in conjunction with Purple Up Day at FE Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Where military kids were welcomed to the base’s Youth Activities Center and treated to a free event aimed at celebrating their service, sacrifice and support of their military parent(s).
Over 90 military kids joined us for the event. They each received a certificate of appreciation, DVDs courtesy of Disney and other goodies, participated in our SnapShots Program and had the opportunity to make a fleece pillow and play gigantic versions of some of their favorite games.
